About

Why did I start The Red Cycle idea?

Was it the challenge, a mid life crisis or just the desire to do something to raise some money for a charity which does a lot of good but gets very little support? I think it was a little of each of these. I have watched all the TV programmes raising money, the challenges they do and have finally decided I want to do some of that.
I am lucky to have worked in a brillant industry for 20 odd years, meeting many people and making great friends, so why not join all those things together. So next September, with the support of my family and friends, I am cycling around the UK, 1421 miles over 16 days and visiting 16 towns. I hope that I can encourage people, especially those working in the construction industry, to come out and join me on different legs of this journey. I want to show that the industry as a whole can come together to support the RedR charity.

RedR is an international disaster relief charity which trains aid workers and provides skilled professionals to humanitarian programmes worldwide, helping to save and rebuild the lives of people affected by natural and man-made disasters.

    • Hi Alison
I’m answering Red Cycle enquiries on behalf of Dave because as you can imagine he’s very busy at the moment. Where are you located and I can let you know. Alternatively, check out the website over the next few days as we are adding route details that take in every bend and dip in the road i.e. satellite navigations and mapping

  5. Delighted to donate David, a very worthwhile cause and I jump at the chance to begin to repay you for your unswerving support for CIBSE YEN! The best of luck
